Founder

Prior to founding Wag West in 2012, Adam Zucker has held several positions across the pet, food, and financial industries including:
  • Managing Partner of a multi-unit restaurant group in NYC.
  • Customer Service Director at a Fortune 100 company.
  • President/Manager of a San Diego-based retail and dog grooming company.

As a lifelong dog owner of mixed breeds, Shih Tzus, Bulldogs, Viszlas and a variety of cats, Adam has honed his skills in dog training, dog and cat behavior analysis, and pet first aid. He possesses extensive breed-specific knowledge and has served as a valuable resource to hundreds of pet owners in San Diego County. After 25 years of work experience in management, customer service, and operations, Adam decided to fulfill his true passion of working full-time with animals by founding Wag West. Adam holds a B.A. in Economics from Vassar College. He resides in Carmel Valley. He recently lost Jenny, his 11 year old German Shepherd/Yellow Lab mix, to cancer.
Rachael

Rachael

Certified Dog Trainer And Pet Care Professional

Having spent the early part of her career in health and social services, Rachael now works as a full-time dog trainer, dog walker, and pet sitter. She holds a B.A. from University of California at Irvine in Social Ecology, and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Hawaii. She is also a Certified Dog Trainer from the Animal Behavior College.

Rachael has always had a deep connection with animals, dating as far back as Kindergarten where she remembers bringing her prized ceramic Labrador to "show and tell". To this day, she is inspired and fascinated by canine behavior and the human/canine bond. Her special interests and skills include service dog training, fostering and placement of dogs to individuals with special needs, and custom one-on-one caregiving for dogs. She is a lifelong resident of Del Mar. She recently lost Koa, her 10 year Black Lab, to congestive heart failure.

D.V.M and Pet Care Professional

Julia received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts & Nevis. She has special interests in animal behavior and pain management. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Salisbury University.

She is a member of several professional organizations including Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA), California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), International Veterinary Academy for Pain Management (IVAPM), and the Association of Shelter Veterinarians (ASV). She lives in Encinitas with her dog Layla, her two cats, Gumbo and Luna, and a tank full of fish.

Veterinary Assistant and Pet Care Professional

Caitlin is in the process of finishing her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly Pomona. Her degree will include a Pre-Veterinary specialty.

She has experience as a Veterinary Assistant, an Animal Caretaker at the San Diego Humane Society, a Kennel Attendant and an Exercise Rider at a local ranch. Caitlin lives in North County Coastal San Diego with her mixed breed dog, Dyno.

Prior to moving to sunny San Diego, Ashley was a Professional Dog Walker in New York. When she is not walking dogs, Ashley enjoys working at local adoption events. Ashley holds a B.A. in Communications from SUNY Brockport.

Born, raised and current resident of La Jolla, Christina is an accomplished equestrian and proud mother of Georgie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. A lifelong animal lover, she also owns Sam, a box turtle who lives freely in her backyard. When not running or walking dogs, Christina is a graphic and clothing designer. Christina holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island
Sasha

Sasha

Registered Veterinary Technician and Pet Care Professional

Sasha, a native of Cincinnati, has ten years of professional experience in internal medicine and laboratory medicine. She resides in San Diego with her husband, Andrew, and her two dogs, Ringo, a Havanese, and Zilla, a Beagle mix. When not walking dogs, Sasha teaches hula hoop classes and is a certified Zumba instructor. Sasha holds a B.S. in Communications and an Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State.
